We had so much fun visiting the Weston Sugar Shack to see the process of making maple syrup. Farmer Anna and Farmer Kate taught us how to identity a sugar maple tree. We saw how the Lands Sake staff tap the trees and collect the sap in buckets and transport it to the sugar shack in a truck with a large plastic holding tank. We saw how it is boiled in the evaporated and got to taste their own maple syrup. Curious George was able to visit with us as well. Luckily he didn't get into any mischief. Here are some pictures of our visit. A special thanks to the Happy Hollow PTO for fully funding our trip.
